Operations

The Montrose Fire Protection District provides fire protection, emergency medical services, technical rescue, and hazardous materials response to a very diverse area. The MFPD is responsible for the provision of fire suppression to an area of 186 square miles, and the provision of EMS and Rescue services to an area of over 1100 square miles.

The MFPD is responsible for services to citizens and visitors of the City of Montrose and part of Montrose, Ouray, and Gunnison Counties, serving an estimated population of 36,000.
